The Crispy
Beef Rendang

Rendang is a spicy red meat dish originating from the Minangkabau people of Indonesia. One of the earliest references to Rendang is from the early 16th century literary work called Hikayat Amir Hamzah. An online poll of 35,000 people by CNN in 2011 and 2017 chose Rendang as No. 1  of the World's 50 most delicious foods.  Our Beef Rendang potato chips is the 4th flavour launched under the F.EAST brand and continues to enhance our reputation as purveyors of iconic Asian-flavoured potato chips.  Within half a second of opening the bag, you will be left in no doubt what flavour you are about to enjoy because of the aroma that would waft into your nose.

Egg Prata
with Fish Curry

Prata is an Indian-influenced flatbread dish found in several countries in South East Asia, and is usually served with different types of curry or dhal, but can also be cooked in a range of sweet or savoury variations made with a variety of ingredients such as sardines, meat, egg, or cheese.  In the book Panjab Under The Sultans, it was mentioned that Prata was popular with the nobility and aristocracy in the Punjab between 1000-1526 AD. Our Egg Prata With Fish Curry potato chips has pretty spicy fish curry that is nicely balanced with the flavour the egg prata. Close your eyes and you will probably believe you are eating Prata from your favourite Indian food stall.

Laksa

Laksa is a spicy noodle soup popular in the Peranakan cuisine of South East Asia.  It consists of rice vermicelli with chicken, prawn or fish, served in spicy soup based on rich and spicy coconut milk.  Laksa traces its origins back to the Ming Dynasty (1368 to 1644) and is reportedly brought to South East Asia by a Chinese naval expedition led by Admiral Zheng He.  Our Singapore Laksa potato chips, as the name suggests, is based on the Singapore version of this hot Asian cuisine.  Regardless of which version of Laksa you grew up with, you will love the flavour of the F.EAST Singapore Laksa potato chips.  Try it to believe it.

Hainanese Chicken Rice

Hainanese Chicken Rice is a beautiful Asian cuisine identified by the fragrance of ginger and the aroma of sesame oil.  This dish traces its origins to the Qin Dynasty (221 – 206 BC).  Based on a well-known Hainanese dish called Wenchang Chicken, so-called because the Hainanese has traditionally only used the Wenchang breed of chicken to make the dish.  Almost every country in Asia has a version of Hainanese Chicken Rice.  The San Francisco Chronicle says that, “The dish maps 150 years of immigration from China’s Hainan Island to Singapore…”.  Our Hainanese Chicken Rice potato chips is based on the Singapore version of the dish, of course, and we guarantee that you will love it.

THE PROCESS

Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000

The FSSC 22000 is an internationally accepted certification scheme developed in response to customer demands for a recognizable standard against which a food safety management system can be audited and certified.  FSSC 22000 was given Global Recognition by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative), as well as other food safety schemes such as BRC or IFS. The certification scheme is owned by the Foundation for Food Safety Certification.

FSSC 22000 has been developed for the certification of food safety systems, which guarantee the safety of products during primary production of animal products, manufacturing of perishable animal and/or vegetable products, products with a long shelf life and food ingredients like additives, vitamins and bio-cultures, animal food and feed production and food packaging manufacturing.

Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP)

HACCP is a systematic preventive approach to food safety from biological, chemical, and physical hazards in production processes that can cause the finished product to be unsafe and designs measures to reduce these risks to a safe level.

HACCP attempts to avoid hazards rather than attempting to inspect finished products for the effects of those hazards. The HACCP system can be used at all stages of a food chain, from food production and preparation processes including packaging, distribution, etc.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), for example, require mandatory HACCP programs for juice and meat as an effective approach to food safety and protecting public health.

Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

GMP refers to the practices required in order to conform to the guidelines recommended by agencies that control the authorization and licensing of the manufacture and sale of food and beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, dietary supplements, and medical devices.

These guidelines state the requirements that a manufacturer must meet to assure that their products are consistently high in quality, from batch to batch.  The main purpose of GMP is to prevent harm from occurring to the end user.

Additional requirements include ensuring the end product is free from contamination, that it is consistent in its manufacture, that its manufacture has been well documented, that personnel are well-trained, and the product has been checked for quality more than just at the end phase.
