Egg Prata With Fish Curry Potato Chips Taste Test: Nice Or Not?

Our first mouthful yields chips with a shattering crunch: it’s got heft and a good mouthfeel, yet not so thick that it hurts our molars. It’s brittle enough to break down easily. The fiery notes of chilli assault the tongue first, followed by a piquant wave of what appears to resemble assam (tamarind), quickly crowded by a bunch of earthy, fragrant spices familiar to fish curry. A rich potato flavour gradually creeps in, adding depth to it all.

Local potato chip brand Flavours of the East (aka F.east), who came up with the Laksa and Hainanese Chicken Rice potato chips that went viral last year, is rolling out a new flavour this month: Egg Prata with Fish Curry. Yep, not just any ol’ prata flavour, but eggy prata withfish curry. How hilariously specific.
